Cystogram

THOMAS:

 

Steps:

 

Order Omnipaque 300

 

Place Patient Supine

Turn on light to show cross hair of where image is taken, center on bladder

TAKE SCOUT IMAGE

Place 50cc catheter tip syringe in foley outlet without plunger

Pull into air directly above patient

Pour 50mL of contrast into plunger

Pour Sterile water on top around 70mL

TAKE AP image

Ask to turn L oblique

Take L oblique Image

Ask to turn R oblique

Take R oblique Image

 

Look for extravazation at bladder neck

 

If none, take out foley.

 

Give a depends after foley removal, as patients will leak

 

If some, leave foley in for 1 more week and bring back for Cystogram

 

POST RARP after foley removal

 

1. RTC 3 months

2. PSA 4 Months

3. High Protein Diet

4. Kegel excercises (squeeze butt hole, give Michigan kegel excercise packet

5. Offer Depends

6. Antibiotics Bactrim 3 days
