Cysto for BPH

INDICATION FOR PROCEDURE: BPH w/ LUTS
 
 
ANESTHESIA: 2% lidocaine jelly

PROCEDURE IN DETAIL:
After informed consent, Patient was prepped and draped in standard
cystoscopic fashion. A flexible cystoscope was inserted into the urethra then
the bladder. The bladder was systematically inspected. Scope was retroflexed to
inspect prostate. Cystoscope was then removed with further inspection of the
prostate.
 
 
Findings in summary:
 
1. Bladder:
-Ureteral orifices are normal and in orthotopic postion with bilateral efflux
noted
-On retroflexion, the median lobe of the prostate did/did not ***** protrude
intravesicularly
-The mucosa was normal and specifically, no papillary lesions were noted.
-***** Trabeculations
 
2. Prostate:
-The prostatic urethra demonstrated/did not demosntrate****** considerable bilobar enlargement
 
3. Anterior Urethra:
-No stricture disease apprciated

Flow Pattern:
 
Impression:
Patient has significant causing obstruction of urinary flow
consistant with urinary symptoms. These are base on both cystoscopic and
uroflowmetry studies. Notably, the patient's prostate was felt to be of a
size on cystoscopy.
